Permit Compliance Review and Permit Renewals

It is common to receive a fourteen page term grazing permit along with a six page annual grazing authorization. Review of these documents ensures the important aspects are made clear and additional requirements are not arbitrarily placed on the producer.

Monitoring Data Collection and Review

Data collection and interpretation drives much of the decision making process within the land management agencies. However, the monitoring methods are complex and have specific criteria that needs to be met to ensure the data is being interpreted correctly. Ensuring a detailed analysis is conducted of the agencies data collection and interpretations ensures the monitoring methodologies are being applied appropriately.

Environmental Policy Compliance and Endangered Species Act

Taking the time to see any piece of ground in question often allows for solutions to present themselves. Having knowledge of the National Environmental Policy Act process I can help present alternatives to long standing management concerns.​​​

The Endangered Species Act (ESA) is complex. As with the permit compliance review ensuring additional burdens are not placed on the permit holder while continuing with adequate protections for the ESA listed species is my objective.

Meeting Representation

The objective for having meeting representation is overall advocacy. Agency staff is paid to be prepared for meeting with producers. Producers are paid to produce livestock. Taking the time to be prepared for meetings, asking the right questions and following up with agency staff is important to ensuring permit compliance is obtained.
